Running a complex facility often means to employ various technical mechanisms to detect fire and burglary etc., deal with systems for entry admission, audio, video, elevators and alarm-, announcement- and PBX devices. All such systems generate and distribute a lot of data but in many technical installations the whole setup is lacking a comprehensible and manageable visualising of the really vital information - concentrated at one central work station, if so desired.
The aim of IPC is to relieve the responsible user from superflous actions. This means the significant information must stick out. Less important information can be automated and yet displayed and manually dealt with on demand. Most manufacturers of special devices nowadays offer their own systems to display and operate events in their own confined environments, thus resulting in control stations being crammed with various systems of different handling needs and also boosting the personnel costs.
All these criteria point towards IPC as a central management system. It does not only provide more transparence and simplyfied operation but also offers the added value of links between the controlled devices by optionally defined event-and-reaction associations. So a "FIRE_A1" event can actuate certain elevators to stay open, certain loadspeakers to make distinct announcements, doors to open, lights be turned on and pre-designed alarm messages be distributed to pre-configured targets.
In conjunction with a powerful system for distribution of voice, fax, data, e-Mail and SMS messages as outlined under TB-SAVE* all vital information is sent to internal and external targets much safer and faster than by manual operations.

The IPC system can simplify the control and also interrelate different manufacturer's peripheral devices in the range of control and communications engineering. It can simply integrate the devices into one unique central visualising, control and command center.
The elements desired to visualise the various conditions can be freely chosen. Event-and-reaction chains are easily created.
The complete system is distinguished by a simple and uniform operating and event logging. Rapid extension is always possible.
The software is running in a Windows environment and facilitates an SQL Database and TCP/IP communication. Additionally it can be equipped with up to 64 interfaces to RS232 or similar standard.

IPC facilitates an easy to operate and intuitive user interface and runs on standard PC systems with Windows NT or Windows 2000. External devices are usually connected via serial interfaces and multiple I/O boards. Also network interfaces are available.
The complete system is protected by individual userrights. The visualisation Windows and objects can be individually designed in the client server environment. Incoming messages can be addressed in accordance with actually logged in users.
IPC is a modular system and can easily be configured by the project engineer to suit specific needs. Diagnostic routines are checking the system's processes and external connections. The IPC system can be laid out as an integrated all-in-one installation or be equipped with software clients in LAN/WAN environments.
